Youth and Family Ministries

The Brotherhood

Worship and Music

     Praise the LORD! Let everything that breathes praise the LORD!    (Psalm 150)

  • Provide regular Sunday worship services in accordance with the liturgical calendar year, using a variety of settings and music in the available hymnals and other sources
  • Enhance worship by using appropriate hymns and anthems, vocal or instrumental
  • Afford an opportunity to participate in choirs for all ages, hand bell choir, brass, and other instruments
  • Provide seasonal worship services, such as those held during Advent and Lent
  • Alternate years host a Seder meal for the Maundy Thursday service
  • Encourage participation in the annual Music Week workshop at Lutheridge for all ages; offer a stipend for children and youth who attend
  • Provide training and scheduling for acolytes, crucifers, banner bearers, Bible bearers and torch bearers.  Provide scheduling for Helping Hands, ushers, altar care, lectors, communion assistants and presenters
  • Deliver Holy Communion to shut-ins and nursing home residents, administered by the Pastor and other Eucharistic assistants
  • Provide for maintenance (repairs/tuning) of organ and pianos
  • Oversee special services such as weddings and funerals through set policies.

Social Ministry

   Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of those members of my family, you did it to Me.   (Matthew 25:40)

  • Visit our hospitalized church family, providing a meal, gift or flower--Love Basket Ministry
  • Provide meals for the Homeless at Salvation Army each month and provide emergency needs for the shelter
  • Assist Crisis Assistance Ministry through food collections and love offerings
  • Collect donations to purchase school supplies for backpacks
  • Collect Christmas Shoeboxes for Samaritan's Purse
  • Provide for emergency needs of our congregational family and community
  • Prepare Thanksgiving Soup Luncheon for congregation
  • Collect food for Thanksgiving meals given to families in our community
  • Provide help for families during Christmas
  • Designate and inform our congregation of monthly Love Offering recipients

Evangelism: Outreach

Evangelism:  Membership

     So I Your Lord and Teacher have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.   (John 13:14)

  • Visit shut-ins and people with special concerns
  • Visit members who are hospitalized
  • Maintain contact with active and inactive members through cards, visits and telephone calls
  • Prepare and distribute selected items to shut-ins and those with special concerns for Valentines Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas

Stewardship and Finance
